A Republican willing to take responsibility for a grave error. How rare! https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/5778358-john-kennedy-iran-school-strike/ Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) on Tuesday said a strike on an all-girls school in Iran that killed around 175 people, which President Trump blamed on Tehran, was a mistake. Airstrikes hit the Shajarah Tayyebeh elementary school in Minab in southern Iran on Feb. 28, when the U.S.-Israeli joint strikes began in the region. The military operation also attacked a nearby Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps naval base, according to an analysis from The Associated Press. The research and satellite images showed that the strikes appeared to come from the U.S. “I mean, we’re investigating, but I’m not going to hide behind that,” Kennedy said on “The Arena” with CNN’s Kasie Hunt. “I think that it was a terrible, terrible mistake.” “The investigation may prove me wrong, I hope so,” he continued. “The kids are still dead. But I think it was a horrible, horrible mistake.” The Louisiana Republican noted the strike likely “wasn’t intentional,” apologized for it and then called it “the sort of thing Russia does.” “And when you make a mistake, you ought to admit it,” he added later. “Most people understand no one’s perfect, but I don’t think our men and women who are fighting for us did it intentionally. I’ll never believe that.”
Um... he's saying what so many of us have been saying all along. It was unintentional. Was this supposed to be some sort of gotcha?
He's actually apologizing for the massive mistake of killing kids unlike lying Trump who blamed Iran for firing Tomahawk missles they didn't have at themself. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/watch-trump-sidesteps-responsibility-for-deadly-strike-on-iranian-girls-school Trump sidesteps responsibility for deadly strike on Iranian girls' school Politics Mar 9, 2026 8:44 PM EDT President Donald Trump erroneously claimed Monday that Iran has access to the American Tomahawk cruise missile, the weapon likely used to strike a girls' school in Iran, killing 165 people.
…and when called out on his lie, Trump says he “doesn’t know.” Either way, this once again certifies that Trump is an idiot. He is an idiot if he actually doesn’t know the latest report, that stated it was a U.S. strike that hit the school. He is also an idiot- in typical Trump fashion, he just can’t keep his mouth shut, and if there are facts he doesn’t agree with, he just keeps talking and lies. The school strike is tragic. Nothing will make this right, but I certainly hope it was an accident. Accidents happen. Accidents happen more often when you have a chickenhawk president, who rushes into an unnecessary war, with no plan, no strategy and no support. Finally, Trump and Hegseth purged the Pentagon of top intelligence and policy officers. When the workforce sees what happens to their leadership, for having a contrarian view, it’s going to result in flawed intelligence. Trump is flawed on many levels, but his number one flaw is he is not that smart. It’s OK if you’re not smart- though your President should have half a brain, but it’s so dangerous to lack intelligence and still think you’re always the smartest person in the room.
