A year into this administration, and we have another George Floyd.
She was not breaking the law.
If she was impeding ice agents I do believe that is breaking the law.
How?
Impeding or obstructing an ICE agent is a federal crime, potentially leading to felony charges, as ICE officers are federal law enforcement, and interfering with their duties violates laws like 18 U.S.C. § 111
She was not impeding or obstructing. This is clear in the video. This is murder. The ICE officer need to to be brought to justice.
Watch this video. She hits him with her car. https://x.com/nicksortor/status/2008973759097733306
She was dead. Its hard to control a vehicle when you die.
She wasn’t shot until after she hits him.
He wasn’t hit. Slowed down close ups and stills show he was way from the car (which was moving slowly before she was shot - slow enough that the other officer had his hand inside the car). And actually, if he was in front of the car, can we all recognize that he could have easily hit his fellow officer with that bullet? Verification he was in front of car, the other officer would be right next to him. So he would have endangered his fellow officer. More likely, though, as the stills show, he was on the side of the vehicle and near his fellow office when he shot into the vehicle.
We must be watching different videos. He was 100% hit by her. This is not even questionable.
Are you watching the one obscured by the trees? Go watch the slow mo one upthread. But let me ask you, even if yo watch the slow mo one and think he was hit, how do you think he was justified drawing his weapon? Because either way he was no longer in front of the vehicle (or if he was he recklessly endangered his fellow officers). He should never have been in front of the car and he gun should not have been drawn. He should not have shot into a moving vehicle. He was incredibly reckless.
