BRAC meetings on Aug 5th and Sept for latest maps Updates on new changes
What were the top 3 BRAC priorities by Region and when will the new maps be out?
What are the top priorities and when do the maps get shared publicly?
+1 Has anyone seen the top 3 priorities for their region?
Nope, FCPS fails again. You could ask your BRAC rep directly, but I think many live under fear of the overly broad application of the NDA.
Why would an NDA cover priorities based on region comments? Public comments are online and priorities are meant to determine map changes[ Now, ask yourself: what happened when the BRAC member relayed to his/her FairFacts Matter group that one of the recommendations was to send Forestville to Herndon? I don't blame them, but people were immediately up in arms! Now, imagine, say. that Region X decides to move elementary school A from high school A to high school B. But, the parents at elementary school A LOVE high school A and don't want to be moved to high school B which is further away. What do you think will happen when elementary school A parents find out? Answer: exactly the same thing that happened with Forestville parents--but likely with different results. They don't want people reacting yet. I know my neighborhood has some very serious concerns and would love to know if any of the BRAC recommendations affect us. Our pyramid reps know nothing about my area. But, we don't have the funds to contribute to political campaigns that some areas do.
Yes, but the priorities are supposed to be based on public comments and all the public comments are available online for each region. So, the priorities should be available online too.
