So why is Hamas still holding hostages? They must really like the retaliation they enjoy from the IDF, even if it incidentally affects some civilians. Too much focus on the response to what Hamas started and refuses to stop; focus on Hamas' intransigence and their role in all this.
This thread is about Israeli war crimes. Stop trying to obfuscate. Nothing Hamas has done can justify what Israel is doing. Both can be wrong.
So enlighten us. What would have been an appropriate Israeli response to Oct 7 and to the continued holding of hostages? Kill, rape and kidnap the exact same # of Palestinians, and also refuse to let those kidnaped go? Or maybe try to eliminate the people who committed, and who continue to commit, those atrocities, who also have the power to put an end to the violence but choose not to? Remind us again why hostages are still being held, and what Israel should be doing to free them? Just ask nicely?
Like I said, this thread is about Israeli war crimes, not Hamas. Nothing Hamas has done justifies war crimes. Stop trying to obfuscate.
