All but 2 Cap Blue committed players were on Pride Red 26. The same Pride Red 26 team also had the ND commit (now MD black) and UPenn goalie commit (now integrity green). It’s a shame Pride couldn’t hold on to these players.
Oh my lord, get over it already. All the whining about “if only Pride kept its players” and Capital “taking talent developed by others” is soooo done. Pride didn’t make the transition to a good hs program and likely never will. KMG couldn’t make it happen. No smart player or family is going to stay if they can make Capital.
Capital has long been successful at leveraging other clubs developed talent. Thats literally the model - why should we all be sooooo done? And weird that you try to argue against it. They've been successful at it. Also lots of great commits from the last several years from teams outside of Capital. And KMG has produced players.
The claim that Capital doesn’t develop players is flat wrong. My kid played for the club and received great instruction and development from Capital which improved her game by leaps and bounds. No other DMV club (or possibly MD club for that matter) has the same caliber of former Team USA, former Tewarraton finalists, and former national champions on their coaching staff and in club leadership. These accomplished women know the modern game better than anyone. Those who think these women simply babysit Capital players and don’t know what they’re doing (or don’t develop players) have never had a kid on Capital.
