Wow what a cluster Netflix! I did stick it out and watch it last night by persistently refreshing but way to FUMBLE the ball. Dr LIB here. All caught up. I think these are the three strongest marriages that have ever come out of the show! Final thoughts... Kwame/Chelsea - I think they got a really bad edit, his posts on insta about Chelsea, the fact that he got married, the way they talked and interacted last night, I think of all couples we got a 'story' from them that didn't match reality. Which I am not that surprised by because Chelsea was so real and observant in the PODs and Mexico I was having a hard time believing that she would turn into such a tunnel vision idiot IRL. I still think he is pretty immature, but I no longer think they are like, the Matt/Colleen. I'm not totally sold they are gonna make it for the long haul but I think they are giving it a genuinely good try. Also WTF do they do for a living that apartment view was unreal. What is her job again?! Brett/Tiff - So lovely and wonderful! Although I did get the vibe that they have been through some growing pains in the first year, but really interesting how they had the same portland/seattle issue happening that K/C and P/M had but it never was even mentioned. Zack/Bliss - I LOVE them, they are my actual favorite couple this season. All of Bliss' (understandable) reticence about being the second choice seemed totally gone. I like how Zack was the only person to call out Irina and Micah on their crap. They seem happy and both seem like very good people. I like that her dad has come around and I thought Zack's point on his insta and in the show that the punishment of going through all this is more than enough was a great one. And how people need second chances. I just like him, weirdo that he is. He wouldn't let Micah literally lie on stage though which I liked! Marshall - I thought he took the high road in a pretty yucky situation. He seemed irritated/upset but kind of more at the fact that people won't let this die then any current day issues. Torture making him retell that joke with Jackie, uncomfortable light shown on the issues with LGBT-phobia in the black community with both of them. Jackie/Josh - chickens. She is classless, airing all this out. On reddit one of her friends posted a borderline incomprehensible rant with screenshots that showed Jackie had been trying to fake death threats to get sympathy at the reunion. She is just...a mess. Marshall is a lot better off without her. Irina - I think Irina is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I think it took a fair amount of guts to show up tonight knowing she was just showing up to get chewed up. I think it seemed like it had been upsetting for her to watch this back on the show. I think she's immature and mean and has a lot of issues but I did get the sense that this experience had made her reevaluate herself a bit. I think she feels bad. She might not have said all the right things last night but I got the sense that while she still has a long road to go, that she accepts she behaved badly and wishes it wasn't true and may do something to try to fix it. Micah - Truly the most pathetic person in the whole season. Sitting there crying and weeping, allowing Irina to take all the heat for the POD mean girl behavior. Putting the fault of the whole relationship failing on Zack. Sitting there looking petulant and pouty and wiping away tears all night. Multiple old cast members (Natalie and Deepti) in addition to current cast members calling her out for not ever even LIKING Paul and she still is sitting there acting like he broke her heart. Unlike Irina I think she feels no shame and is just resentful at how she was portrayed and that she will not change at all. Mean girl to the end. Paul - I think he and Micah never intended to marry each other at all and was really taken aback by the whole wedding scene. I think he was surprised by how upset she was and seemed genuinely confused about how upset she was (I think that was an act TBH). Also I don't know what to think about that bridesmaid but from reddit... Micah and that BM don't follow each other on insta anymore but Paul follows her! As for the whole 'she would make a bad mother' comment I dunno. They ask these people right after they go through this emotional experience and probe and they get people to really speak their mind! And it was true! She is a selfish cold person. And I think he is right about not thinking that talking to her about that would have been constructive, you can't just become a warm person. It is humiliating to have someone say something like that about you on national TV, but if you go on a reality show and act like a mean selfish immature jerk for six weeks while other couples are literally getting married, then you have to live with the consequences I guess. Generally I find Paul boring and vanilla but he's not mean I don't think. Nick and Vanessa - not as bad as I was expecting but typical of Vanessa to wrongly take the side of total jerk girls (I think she was too nice to Jackie and Micah and too mean to Paul and Marshall)
