Not making excuses but Tyre was clearly under the influence o something and and attempts to portray him as some type of angel fall on deaf ears. That being said he did not deserve what happened to him but he should not be portrayed as some type of angel child for the benefit of a lawsuit.
You are making excuses. That's exactly what you're doing. There is no excuse. It's unacceptable. Point Blank.
Disagree. You disobey cops and when you run then you are partly responsible for what happens. It's not a 50/50 ownership but there is some or we are a lawless country. What did he would think would happen when he ran - a handshake, a high five? Did he deserve a beating? Absolutely not, but he could have laid down and surrendered like 99% of people do but he made a decision to roll the dice. What is an acceptable outcome from running from the police - let go with a citations, free to go on your own way because you were faster?
What did he think would happen when he ran? Probably that he might get to safety because he knew those cops were going to kill him. He could have laid down? He WAS on the ground, restrained, telling them OK, OK, all while being yelled at to get down. Wtf? He was being physically restrained from getting any further down to the ground. And even if he could have physically turned his body to a prone position, how would he even have known that's what they wanted? When you've got 5 people yelling and grabbing you, the precise instructions are lost in the chaos. Why do you expect the victim of violence to be more composed than the perpetrators?
