I know about the honors college but not about Smith specifically 
The top admits are invited to apply to a honors college. There are several to choose from. For example Gemstones focuses on collaborative research, Integrated life sciences is popular with pre-med students, ACES is popular with computer science students. Your child should look at the different honors colleges and decide which one they would like to join   There is an application but it is not very time consuming. I think you rank your choices

It also sounds like they were admitted to the Smith school of Business. This is separate from the honors college. Your child must have applied to the Business school during the application process [/quote]
