I’m surprised that not more people cite the Democrats push for increased illegal immigration. I would guess that has something to do with it also. At least, in my neighborhood, I see the negative effects of such a large influx of undocumented immigrants. It will definitely affect my vote going forward. The Democrats want to maintain their source of cheap labor, while pretending they are being ‘humane’. Meanwhile, their immoral policies result in more migrants arriving and risking their lives.
No it is the Republicans who want to maintain the source of cheap labor for their corporate donors. Democrats want to bring in more future voters for Democrats. Bring in 20,000 illegal immigrants to Virginia, then pass an amnesty with votes from the Republicans doing favors for their donors, and voila, no more Republicans getting elected.
You’re right, of course. It’s the wealthy on both sides who push for in influx of undocumented immigrants. Both for their own reasons. At least the Republicans pretend to oppose it. The Democrats pretend that they’re being more compassionate, when it is clear that is not the case. The hypocrisy of the Democrats is a turn off for me - they pretend to want higher wages, while undermining that argument by importing a work force that gets paid under the table in order to avoid the federal minimum wage requirements. Either way, the middle class bears the burdens (as always) as we see the negative effects on our schools and communities. And the undocumented immigrants suffer as they put their lives at risk. The wealth of both parties reap the benefit.
