This is awful and inexcusable. Those individual police officers responsible AND those who stood by and did/said nothing to prevent this as it was happening should be held accountable and charged with murder. Period.

I won't, however, use this as a reason to generalize and condemn all police officers. Just like i won't condemn muslims or saudi arabians for the 911 attacks or condemn all white Christians for the Oklahoma City bombing. That literally makes no sense. There are bad cops. There just are. The solution is not to turn against police as a profession...but to hold them accountable for rooting out the evil within. I expect Christian ministers to condemn acts of terror committed "in the name of Jesus" as evil and wrong. I expect muslim imams to likewise condemn acts of evil committed by self-proclaimed followers of Allah. And I expect police officers EVERYWHERE to say "this is NOT who we are and these men should be charged and tried for murder." Don't let them hide behind the badge. [/quote]
