It is polite for FCV to inform ALL The players in the ENTIRE club what the plans are going forward. If ex-DA players all jump ship there is a real possibility the club could go out of business. Same if St. James files for bankruptcy. That is for EVERYONE To be aware of not just the top players!!!
You must be new. This is pretty typical FCV behavior. Most of us don't let it bother us. Club-wide communications with bad news is not a strength. Lots of other positives.
We are new. And the lack of information from the club is appalling. We obviously heard the rumors about the fate of DA recently and expected the club to say something, but to say that there are "other strengths" is funny. We moved to FCV for the DA training and the coaches. Now we are being told that the coaches who are currently on the roster may not be the ones next season. And now there's no DA. So as a new family I would like to know what the club plans!
Have you reached out to the technical director or anyone else at the club? Your questions and points are very valid and the answers will be important to your decisions moving forward.
A few times, and never got a response. We were told that our coach would tell us over a month ago if he was still going to coach our team. There was never any follow-up or confirmation. We also wanted to know why FCV left the NPL and chose NCSL? Again, no response. We were told that we would be playing in EDP. Then again nothing ever came of it. So now we have no idea who our coach is, what league our team will play in, and if there will be any "elite" league to feed into at FCV. Signed, "B player parent"
As a fellow B player parent, here's what we were told- FCV did not choose to leave NPL, we were asked to leave. United teams were to play EDP starting in the fall, with Elite teams playing NCSL, but with the DA implosion, don't know if that will stick. If your B team coach is on the ex-DA staff also, I'm sure they are trying to figure out their own future as well. Try reaching out there. Unfortunately that's all I know also and we are in the same boat as you. If anyone else knows anything of value to share, please do!
PP here. So you were told that FCV was asked to leave?? We were told that FCV wanted out since the level of competition wasn't strong enough. And that our stronger teams would play EDP and play up an age level in NCSL. I will try and contact the coaching staff again and hopefully have answers...
