look the council flipped because of the race of the council member and the fact that they need that race to remain in power in DC if another race person had said his comments reaction would have been different that's jacked up but reality in this town
You actually believe there's someone from another race may potentially represent Ward 8 on the Council so they chose to let Trayon White slide on this issue to keep that seat black? Do tell...what American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander, or white person living in Ward 8 poses this threat?
No the point is most of the other council members need the black vote on their side to stay elected (obviously for mayor, and at-large positions but many of the other wards too)
Oh so you're assertion is that Mendelson, Grosso, Silverman, Nadeau, Evans, Cheh, and Allen chose to let Trayon White slide on this issue in order to further their political futures? Sounds kind of unethical if you ask me. Sounds like they shouldn't be in office any more than Councilmember White.
Oh I agree, but at the end of the day most politicians have the same goal stay in office/power and messing with the black vote in DC (and most other cities) is political suicide
