She was going to get the gastric surgery but wasn't answering questions well in the pre-op interview. Her boyfriend had a near-death medical scare, and I think that scared her from surgery. After deciding not to do the surgery was when she went to the 'fat ranch', and she's not doing surgery now because she's trying to get pregnant again.

I remember hearing an interview with her at the beginning of the show where I thought she said she was going to lose weight alongside her character. But I don't see that happening. Doesn't take a lot of calories to maintain that weight? It's like she must be trying to keep the weight on. [/quote]
