How many players in this area actually get scholarship money?

I'm not sure people have comprehended this yet -- the DMV underproduces soccer talent relative to its population. We're not California or Texas or Atlanta or Florida.

Check this list of the top 25 ECNL clubs last year. One (1) DMV club made it -- at No. 25.

You'd think from DCUM that the DMV turned out 100 players like Julia Leas each year. We're lucky to turn out one. And maybe every 8-10 years, we turn out an Emily Fox.

If you're really, really serious about playing at the highest level, you're not worried about FVU or VDA or CDC or Virginia Valor Union United Alliance. You're moving to Dallas or LA.

Many players get scholarship money.

There are no clubs in the top 25 from Florida either. No clubs from New England either.
