It is insane to me that an Oscar winning A list actress had to pay her husband $6-900K year not to do coke. And yet most of this thread is about what a bad mother she is. DCUM never disappoints.
She didn’t “have to” pay him - it reportedly was an agreement between the two almost 20 years ago, at a time when the chances of Urban collecting big were very small. And “most” of the thread is not anti NK - the very posts ahead of yours compliment her for an apparent good relationship with the daughters.
Way to totally miss point. It’s insane that a successful woman has to pay this absolute joke of a man money to stay off coke. He is a father. And you’re justifying this. It shouldn’t be Nicole’s responsibility for him to act even like a halfway decent dad. YYMV but I expect more from men. It’s possible not to settle and end up with a loser ladies!
You’re misunderstanding. NK had 100% free will & agency and she apparently chose to monetarily incentivize his continued recovery. It’s not like a jury or court of public opinion just granted him $$$ - this was her negotiation 2 decades ago. He apparently abided by the terms and therefore is entitled to the payout. That’s how contracts work.
Not sure why you’re explaining contracts, that’s not the point I’m making it all i’ll say it one more time. I think it’s truly pathetic that a successful woman has to pay a man to stay sober for the sake of their kids. Nk and I’ll venture to say most women deserve better than this.
It's crazy but maybe it was effective?
