Guys, I went ahead and dug this one up because this is something that still baffles me. It just doesn’t add up. I feel like I am wearing a tinfoil hat, but I have questions. There is a lot that points to this being staged: The weapon was an AR-15. I admittedly know nothing about guns, but does it make sense that this gun could make contact and do so little damage? His ear completely healed, even though his doc said it was a 2 cm wide wound to the cartilage. That’s the size of a penny. A wound that size to cartilage would bleed profusely. That whole side of his head and shirt should have been covered in blood. And cartilage doesn’t heal. Compare his wound to Mike Tyson’s. Doc said it came within a quarter of an inch from entering his head. If that’s true, it would have taken his ear off, to say the least! Not just a grazing that healed a couple of days later. SS did not rush him out and they even let him put his shoes back on and stand up for a photo op. That is not how SS operates. They should have had him covered, out of sight, and in a bulletproof car in the blink of an eye. Trump never talks about it, and there doesn’t seem to be a major investigation. This is a man who thrives on drama, attention, and revenge. I realize the shooter is dead, but Trump investigates everyone who looks at him funny. Shouldn’t he be investigating the parents, school, anyone who might have known his plan? Holding the parents accountable? The lack of panic from the attendees. If you watch the video, there is very little reaction. Why weren’t they running, taking cover? Trump was shot and another man was killed right in front of them. Why are they barely reacting? And Yet: How would you possibly stage something like that? I can’t see Trump arranging for some kid to shoot at him but barely miss. And a man was actually shot. I do think Trump is evil enough to sacrifice a rally-goer, but idk. The number of people who would have known about it. Seems far-fetched to find that many people who would agree to be in the vicinity of a 19 year old firing into a crowd, be it rally-goers, SS, or staff. Especially since a guy died, I feel like someone would have come forward by now. So, I don’t really think the whole thing was staged, but it still just doesn’t make sense. Something was definitely off.
Some thoughts: I suspect the “2cm” wound - which is quite large - is the result of a journalist mistaking “cm” for “mm”. A 2 mm wound - just a nick - would be consistent with a slight graze from a 5.56mm bullet. Journalists are typically not very good at math, conceptualizing numbers, or checking facts these days, so that seems like a plausible explanation - the reporter confused mm for cm, and err’d by a factor of 10. The wound itself may have been created by the wake vortex of the bullet - the disturbed air around the surface of the bullet, about .5mm thick, rather than the actual surface of the bullet itself. Or perhaps the shock-cone of the bullet, which is a shockwave propagating through the air from the tip bullet at approximately a 45 degree angle. It would have to have been extremely close, since intensity of the shockwave falls off at the inverse-square relative to distance. You can actually see the wake vortex of the bullet passing behind him in the Pulitzer photo. That streak is the disturbed air around the much smaller/thinner bullet. The secret service personnel were shamefully disorganized and incompetent. Which is about what we should expect from them, since the other incidents in the past that have provided insights into poor judgment and incompetence and bad behavior on the part of the secret service. So this is true to form. However, they also knew the shooter had been taken out by their own counter sniper team at that point. But they couldn’t have know there might’ve been another sniper, waiting to engage after the initial chaos. Again - incompetence. I think Trump doesn’t discuss it much because for him, it was a moment where he almost died, and he knows it, and his ego, his personality, his everything, couldn’t have stopped it. For him, it’s too uncomfortable to think about much. It reminds him that he’s not in total control of everything, and it makes him feel vulnerable. He doesn’t like that. Investigation into shooter? Where is the media that should’ve been doing this for the last year? They’re AWOL. I cannot explain why the NYT or WaPo haven’t been doing a deep dive into every person who knew this guy. We knew more about a plumber from Ohio named Joe, 12 hours after he asked Obama an embarrassing question at a campaign event, than we know a year later about a guy who shot Trump. That’s journalistic malpractice. The lack of panic from attendees? They’re all paralyzed/confused by the shock of what’s happening. They’re frozen. Pretty normal reaction for people, actually. A few understand what’s happening, and they’re probably trying not to panic so they don’t accidentally get shot by secret service. Which is pretty sensible on their part, given the secret service. Plus, I’m sure quite a few people in the crowd also figured something like this would happen sooner or later, and here it is. As for the dead attendee, Mr Campetore…. I work with a person who insists that he was a crisis actor paid for by Trump/MAGA, and is in fact not dead at all, but living happily under an assumed identity, in a new place, with a lot of cash to start his new life. Would YOU recognize him if you met a stranger months later who moved to your neighborhood and kept to himself? I had to admit, I wouldn’t. I still think my coworker is crazy, but it goes to show you the right doesn’t have sole ownership of nutters. There’s plenty on the other side of the fence too, and she’s proof of it. I think the simplest explanation is the most likely - Trump was shot at, grazed slightly in the ear, and was extremely lucky that he turned his head a couple seconds before. Because otherwise that bullet would’ve been dead center in his head. That’s the simplest explanation.
Thank you for the level-headed response. That’s helpful! I still have questions though! 1. In the letter from “Dr Ronny Jackson” it clearly states that the bullet struck his right ear and left a 2 cm would. So, best case scenario, the president had a doctor lie about him being struck by a bullet and the size of the wound. That should be a big deal in and of itself. But in the Trump era, it’s not even a blip. If the SS behavior can be attributed to incompetence, again, this should be a much bigger issue. Compare it to the Reagan shooting. Within a split second, he was covered, thrown into the car, and they left the scene. SS and LEO also instructed and protected the crowd. This did not appear to happen in Butler. Not to mention the fact that he was able to climb up on a roof in plain sight. It is also bizarre that he was so careful about hiding his online activity, but suddenly not so careful in his last month - as he was trying to find a target for a mass shooting! You are correct that Trump should be traumatized by the event and it would be understandable if he tried to put it out of his mind. But that’s not the case. He had a giant framed portrait made from the event and hung it in the WH! He is proud of it for some reason. It’s not like he fought off an attacker with his bare hands. He just got lucky. And a man died. How heartless to commemorate the event in that way. I agree that the media should have been doing a deep dive into the kid and everyone around him. But their incompetence is another issue. Trump is calling for investigations on everyone from Comey to Springsteen. But he isn’t concerned to know more about his shooter?
