My guess is they’ll talk about playoffs (GA and ECNL) again in their next podcast. But yeah, they seemed to agree that the ECNL had good teams after those top teams and the GA did not. But maybe things have changed over the past year? Those coaches are really experienced coaches!
this is correct. outside of about 15 GA clubs, the quality drops off significantly. it is just the way it is right now.
The quality of every league increases over time. Also every league has the top performers then generally everyone else. Its not like the bottom half of GA is any different then the bottom half of ECNL. Im sure some parents want to try and think one turd smells better then the others. The truth is they both stink.
Except that's not true - the bottom half of the GA is significantly worse than the bottom half of the ECNL. This is proven in tournaments all over the country every year where they play each other.
100% as well as look how many are committed from each league and the turnout of the college coaches to their tournaments GA just had their showcase and playoffs tournaments. they have to combine them cause if they had them separately, the college coach turnout would be worse. around 125 D1 college programs showed up. now ECNL is having their playoffs and over 225 PLUS will be there. huge difference which tells all you need to know. Bottom half of each are about the same. Both leagues probably have 2-3 teams that clearly stand out in conference and the rest are below average.
Seems like the college coaches in the video PP mentioned disagree. No offense, but I'll take their opinion over yours.
