Vanity was the lead singer for Vanity 6 until 1983 when she abruptly chose to leave the group. Vanity was slated to play the leading lady in Purple Rain movie but when she left Prince replaced her with Apollonia. Purple Rain the movie premiered in 1984 and the Purple Rain tour was in 1985. Vanity was already gone by then, Sheila E and Apolloina 6 were the opening acts. The only tour vanity was on with Prince was the Triple Threat tour in 1982 and 1983, also included were The Time.[/quote] I was talking about the movie and not the tour.[/quote]
