Newsome also bragged about being poor and living off Mac and cheese and wonder bread. He is the son of multimillionaires. Somethings really off with him. He’s now genuine and he sucks. He’s worse than Kamala with pandering and patronizing way he talks to the middle class
Newsom's parents divorced and his mother raised Gavin and his sister as a single mother working as a waitress and secretary. How was she a millionaire. Newsom's father had the money as an appellate judge. Newsom has spoken about how he lived in two different worlds going back and forth between his parents home. He attended university on partial scholarship.
He attended Santa Clara University in the Bay Area and got in through nepotism. Newsom likes to say he got into college through baseball and played first base but people who were actually on the team said he never played. He showed up for tryouts for the junior varsity team but never played in a game. He doesn't appear in any official team roster. The alleged scholarship was for $500 but no one has ever seen official documents of that. The real reason he got into college was nepotism. This is from Cal Matters a non partisan news organization. https://calmatters.org/politics/2024/04/gavin-newsom-baseball-college/ Eager to ensure his spot, Newsom’s family also solicited letters of recommendation from former Gov. Jerry Brown, who attended Santa Clara University for one year and appointed William Newsom to the Superior Court and the state Court of Appeal during his first term as governor, and from John Mallen, an attorney who served on Santa Clara’s board of regents at the time. Mallen, who described William Newsom as “my best friend for 75 years,” said he did not frequently write letters of recommendation for applicants while he was on the board. This is typical Newsom exaggerating facts for his benefit and being sly and cagey about it, then when called on it says it isn't his duty to correct the record.
