Because it is the law. Every child, even those accused of crimes, is entitled to a free and public education.

The agency that determines if a juvenile is eligible to return to their home school after being charged with a crime is Maryland's Department of Juvenile Services. That is the agency who would be responsible for monitoring the child via the ankle monitor.[/quote]
This is where focused advocacy can actually make a difference. Not gun control. Better and more alternative/secure facilities so that this law can be met without risk to the general nonviolent/never violent population. The good news is this is in democrats' hands so should be easier to push for in Md. A more robust system where offenders would need to return to a more restrictive environment could also serve as a deterrent.[/quote]
