Slide from the school board meeting where they talked about lower enrollment this year can be found in this roundup: https://www.ffxnow.com/2025/10/01/fcps-immigration-raid-fears-may-be-contributing-to-lower-student-enrollment/ "As of Sept. 22, FCPS has 177,007 students attending 199 schools and centers. Though the division still ranks as the ninth largest in the nation — with a larger student population than that of 11 states — enrollment is down by more than 4,000 students from the 181,153 in class at the end of the 2024-2025 school year."
It would be interesting to see that breakdown by race and hispanic/non-hispanic.
The school websites have all this info but I don’t think they update until the very end of the school year. But it will be interesting to see the enrollments at some of the 85%+ Hispanic schools in Springfield and Alexandria at the end of the year.
The reporting for individual schools that will start getting released within a few weeks (for September 2025 enrollment) breaks down enrollment by race/ethnicity. It will be easy enough to see what’s happened at individual schools since last year.
I'd forgotten, but you can also check this information at the county-wide level as well. Go a school profile, then go to the "Demographics" tab. From there, click on the "Student Ethnic" tab. This will pull up the information for the specific school, but you can then change the display to access the data for the division (FCPS), the region, the pyramid, the school level (i.e., high, middle, elementary), as well as an individual school. The information for September 2025 should be available within a week or two, and you can access the historical information as well.
I don't think they post the demographics until the end of the year.
Wrong, as the prior post makes extremely clear.
Well, they were not posted until the end of the year last year.
No, you simply didn’t know where to look. I looked at the information for 2024-25 throughout the school year, and the information for September 2025 should be available shortly if they follow past practice.
Membership will be available in a week or two. But drmgraohucs lag by a year. You have to go to Virginia for demographics
You are full of shit. It’s all been explained earlier. In a week or two FCPS should publish info on membership available by ethnicity. There is other information that you have to go to the state site for if you want it earlier, such as the FARMS enrollment for the current year, but the demographic information for ethnicity is available earlier.
You are arguing with multiple people
So what? Tell me the demographic information for September 2025 you don’t think will be available until after the end of the school year.
