I don't think you are as familiar with the area as you think.

1. The [b]closest elementary school to KAA is actually Oak Hill--which is a Chantilly feeder. This would certainly relieve the Chantilly membership.[/b]  It is currently assigned to Franklin but many AAP kids are at Carson.  Oak Hill neighborhoods are equidistant from Franklin and Carson.  Both are very close. 
2. Many of the Carson kids are assigned to Westfield and this will relieve Westfield--which is also very crowded.  Westfield could in turn take a Centreville elementary school and relieve Centreville.
3. Pretty sure any adjustments to Coates boundary will be within the KAA area: McNair or Floris likely.  So, this should not affect the KAA issue.
4. THRU has suggested sending the Franklin Farm Navy kids to Oak Hill and removing the Emerald Chase kids.  I think this is not a good idea, but who knows.

I agree that these considerations should be included in boundary study.  I think the fact that they did not may be due to waiting until the KAA purchase is complete.  
However, I don't think it is going to affect the boundary study as much as some might think.  There might need to be slight adjustments to Centreville/Westfield and Oakton.  I think any adjustment to South Lakes will be minimal--maybe none.

Oakhill goes to Franklin Farms, not Carson, and feeds Chantilly. I would be shocked if they sent Oak Hill to KAA. They were looking to pull some Oak Hill students to Fox Mill but I think those Oak Hill students went to Oakton and not Chantilly. Pulling Oak Hill into KAA drastically reduces Chantilly. Moving kids from Oak Hill, like they already planned, would reduce Chantilly by enough to relieve the overcrowding without causing massive upheaval. Especially since Chantilly's numbers have started to decline.

I fully expect that they will be pulling from Coates, McNair and Floris for KAA. All three schools feed Carson. The leftover space will most likely end up being Crossfield or Fox Mill, probably Crossfield because of the long commute to Oakton that they currently have. If they shift Fox Mill, then Crossfield is moved to SLHS and that is not going to make them happy. Very few people are interested in IB, even as a trade off for a shorter commute. Westfield will see some relief and they can shift kids to Westfield from Chantilly or Centerville.
