There is an opinion on the boys thread that the larger WCAC schools (and GT Prep which still has a large legacy factor)will dominate DMV lacrosse in much the way they have done in football and basketball because the IAC schools cannot compete in recruiting, less tuition $, and there is more Catholic scholarship money. Last year the SJC boys were the #1 team in the country. Will the WCAC girls lacrosse programs continue to rise similarly to the boys?

Some of the best area glax players are going to SJC because they seek: a great co-ed experience, strong academics, competitive athletics across multiple sports, and an established track record of recruiting players to great colleges. SJC glax has at least four players committed to Ivy schools where no scholarship money is awarded. That should tell you that money doesn’t lure players to Military Road. The opportunity to compete at a high level — and attend some of the best universities in the nation — does.
