I agree with you, the amnio timing and having it done makes perfect sense. It was even explained by the doctor on the call, who said something about concerns that had come up on the earlier tests to make the amnio necessary.

Maybe. I don't buy that and the entire dialogue between Shiv and her doctor don't support it either. It was also not necessary to introduce the complex topic of amniocentesis to let us know definitively that Shiv was pregnant. In the last episode, Shiv turns down champagne at the wedding in favor of water. The clothes. The general dishevledness. They were all hints. The amnio was introduced for a reason beyond a pregnancy announcement, and I think beyond letting us know how far along she was.[/quote]
