As to the discussions of pornography - there has to be a process within each system for someone to lodge a complaint that something is pornographic.  In FCPS, someone lodged a complaint about this book.  FCPS pulled the book, and then had a board review the book.  They found that it was not pornography.  And they substantiated their position, and returned the book to circulation. The fact that some people disagree with that characterization is not surprising, but honestly I thought they did a fair and good job.  The book is not pornographic in my view.  And books with difficult subjects are exactly the books that should be protected.

Stop your kids from reading whatever you want.  I will continue to encourage my children to read anything they want to.  I believe it is the very best thing I can do to give them strength and knowledge as they prepare to go out into the world.

Look earlier in this thread - there are book bans going on in adult libraries too.  Again so controlling I am not sure why any rational person would be for it. [/quote]
