We've had disdainful remarks about "white trash" and how poor, white Billy with excellent grades can just suck it up at community college so Dashanda with the B can go to a four-year university. I am dumbfounded as to how a group,of people can condemn others with awful racist accusations, and then demonstrate their prejudice against whites - particularly low-income whites.

I say we've had two full generations of giving a big break to blacks, and that's enough. This claim that we can stop doing it when blacks have achieved the same level of success ignores the bad behavior more associated with blacks which leads to failure - notably, having the majority babies out-of-wedlock.

Jews suffered thr massive discrimination imaginable during the lifetime of our parents, and that didn't stop them from studying, getting top scores and grades, and going to college - all while they listened to their parents crying over the murders of their relatives - AND while facing anti-Jewish quotas at the Ivies.

1) The expense of a small % of majority kids. It's a small price to pay. Those kids will be fine.

2) Provide some data that the small % of kids who aren't getting in are the poor white Billys. That is a purely a fabrication of demographics. It could just as easily be middle-class kids - actually even more probable given the applicant pool for college.

3) PP is being called a racist because she's not worried about other kids (athletes, legacies, other URMs) taking spots in college. ONLY black kids.

4) We are all still experiencing the nasty side effects of slavery and systematic racism (that exists TODAY). Why do you think they'd just magically go away quickly? Why are you denying that they exist?

I accept that my kids will have a tougher time getting into top 10 schools because many of those schools are pushing hard for diversity (both racial and economic). My kids won’t have the same experience as me but they will be fine. A top 10 school will do more for others than them.
