Justice wasn't out of the blue.  Those who suggested Thurgood Marshall proposed calling the school Justice Thurgood Marshall HS and calling it Justice for short to differentiate it from the other Marshall HS. The board just skipped the confusion with the other Marshall and named it Justice.  I think the Thurgood Marshall people were planning to call the school Justice anyway so the board basically went with the Marshall voters but avoided any issues with having two Marshall Highs.  The board tried to bring in the Johns and Mendez supporters by saying it represents them too.  I think it was a better choice then picking any of the three individual names.  [/quote]
