The irony is if Israel/Netanyahu wasn’t so gung ho about pushing america to war in Iraq, we probably would be in Israel right now with boots on the ground to get hostages and fight Hamas. The US is drained, war fatigued, and tired of the Middle East war. It’s a political albatross that certainly Pres Bush was never able to recover from nor Tony Blair in the UK or Hillary Clinton. Colin Powell was wise to step down when he did. The rise of Obama and Trump for their respective party nominations was largely due to their vocal anti Iraq war stance.
W should never recover for a 20 year war with the wrong country. Netanyahu gave those orders and W jumped at the chance to avenge the Iraqi death threats against his daddy despite ignoring the former administration’s warning that Isis was the greatest threat to America. But thats not all he fcked up. He single-handedly flipped his vote from yes to no on Ukraine’s NATO membership as Russia moved toward occupying Crimea. More you say? Well, yes. There was an assault weapons ban in place thanks to Biden when there were only ~ 500,000 assault weapons circulating in the U.S. Baby Bush allowed the ban to lapse due to Republican majority. He’s a dumb fking monster. He should hang low and continue to paint by numbers until he leaves this world. One more thing— Netanyahu provided the U.S. nothing but thoughts and prayers on 9 11. Just the carrot he dangled to get Bush to start a war with Iraq. Neither men were capable of a measured response. Rings true decades later.
