His "city of yes" plan is actually good for housing (while freezing rent in rent stabilized apartments is a useless populist move). He promoted phonics and got rid of balanced literacy in public schools. He rolled out trash collateralizatoin and appointed a very competent "rats czar". I did not agree with some of his moves and obviously he is corrupt but I have to admit he has been a decent mayor in comparison to most of the alternatives. [/quote]
