Why? What on earth would they say? They don’t background check entire families before allowing Swimmers into the program. They have no culpability so why would they comment?

The club could have said that it was deeply saddened to learn about the allegations and has zero tolerance for sexual exploitation. They could have also pointed out that the club has taken a number of steps to keeps its swimmers safe such as becoming safesport recognized, not letting parents or other spectators into practice facilities or locker rooms, etc. [/quote]

Disagree. As a parent, those sentiments and ideas are either already known or unnecessary.  Does any organization tolerate any level of sexual exploitation? We get all the safesport notifications (and all watched videos that helped get the certification) and we know the policies on viewing practice and bring on deck from other communications.  And saying they are deeply saddened is assumed.  [/quote]

Happy ASA parent here. We aren’t leaving ASA. Respectfully, if the 4th victim ends up being an ASA swimmer (I hope it’s not), do you think ASA should refrain from sending something out about being deeply saddened that someone from the ASA community was harmed by this criminal? I think ASA should. By your logic, ASA should not show any empathy.[/quote]
