She's a liar and a hypocrite. I lost all interest when I found out about her dh's crimes. She's not any different from Erika Jane and Coach Shah on the Housewives. She profited off taxpayers money to get that bargain basement facelift and some fancy clothes and nice house. It's gross.[/quote]

If he didn't die before the case went to court, they probably would have lost a huge chunk of that 'hard-earned' wealth. He was loaning out millions, so they had quite a bit. He had already taken a plea, so was only awaiting sentencing. I don’t know what to think about Joan. Did she know? Did she think he was railroaded? Producers had to know about this. If she was their choice, I feel like they should have addressed it (maybe they will later in the show). Her comments as quoted from that podcast don’t sound great.[/quote]

She may not have known at first, but she does now. So there really is zero excuse for giving smug interviews about your great finances when the money was from criminal sources.[/quote]
