They aren’t merging the teams.  They are merging the clubs.  Then the top girls from both teams will form next year’s team.  Yes, this means that many on the bottom of those rosters will be moving either down or looking for other clubs.  It also means that instead of having say 6 great players on each team, with others filling in, you get 12 great players in your starting line-up, making a stronger more competitive club.  Better for the clubs, better for the top players, not better if you are on the bench or were hoping to move up.[/quote]
