I hope MORE teachers post their wish lists for funding on AEM. Good way to bring attention to the lack of funding by APS.
Most teachers avoid AEM because of the bat$hit crazy people there.
I don't blame them. Someone posted there recently complaining that people post anonymously and didn't understand why. It's because of that OP and many others who are just nasty sometimes. Not everything has to be a fight.
I'm not the one who made that post questioning the increasing # of anonymous posts; but I don't disagree with her. I understand if a teacher doesn't want APS to see their comments and therefore an exception be made here and there; but there does seem to be an increasing # of anonymous posters and they aren't obviously from teachers. If parents are posting anonymously because they don't want teachers wielding revenge on their kids, we have a much bigger problem. I never knew there was an anonymous option and for the most part, I think it's wise to keep it transparent. Like the poster pointed out, the other people don't have the option of responding anonymously. And what exactly is the criteria for being granted permission to be anonymous, anyway? I understand why someone might want to post certain things anonymously. But some of those anonymous questions/comments really don't warrant anonymity.
Lol! You’re posting anonymously on this thread about a topic that doesn’t really warrant anonymity. You see the irony, right?
No - this is an anonymous forum. AEM was not set-up as an anonymous forum.
NP. The problem is that disagreement is now met with personal attacks in some cases. It's really only a few people, including (and especially) the woman who questioned why more people are posting anonymously. I agree with her more often than disagree but am so turned off by her. Accusing someone of "whitesplaining" because he disagreed with her, for example. Accusations (completely unwarranted IMHO) like that shut down any meaningful conversation and yes, make people wary of publicly posting. There is no real exchange of ideas on AEM anymore. And it's a shame.
+100 I have seen this, too.
Personal attacks are nothing new. How quickly you all forget the extreme discourse during the pandemic. Some of the other aggressive people aren't posting there much these days. Maybe they are too busy trying to figure out how to sign up to speak at SB meetings.
Thankfully many of the worst pandemic era parents left APS and also the need to comment on APS's decisions. There are still a few, like EHN, that still chime in now and then, but even her posts aren't as vicious as they historically were.
EHN cracks me up with her need to drop that her kids now go to a private. Like responding to a request for a math tutor rec with "my child's friend at her private school had a great experience with Mister Math" versus "Friend had positive experience with Mister Math." Yeah, lady, you are part of our private school club, congrats, but you're so embarrassing to the rest of us.
