Huge difference, don't play stupid.

Not allowing gay people into your restaurant is not the same as Harvard saying "we want a balanced freshman class and that means we look at more than just SAT/GPA and instead look at the whole person and their entire resume, their teacher recommendations, their ECs, etc".   
Once again, outside of Athletes or Mommy/Daddy/grandpa is a president or donated $20M to get a building with their name on it, Harvard is not admitting kids with 1200 SAT and 3.0 GPA---they are saying "we see equal value in a student with a 1450+/3.8+/only 3 APs from a kid at a school with 90% on FARMS and only 3 ap courses and only 5 % going to a 4 year college. We recognize the challenges this kid has been thru and we recognize that their resume is similar to the 1percenter who had everthing handed to them on a golden platter who got a 1550/3.99+/15APs and started "their own company that is really done for show""   Harvard is NOT discriminating against your "top student", they are simply selecting 5% of the thousands of qualified applicants---they are rejecting the majority, your kid and thousands of other equally qualified.
