They don’t seem to realize that Cheney and Kinzinger are Luke skywalker and Han Solo. The Trumpublicans are openly embracing the role of Darth Vader. [twitter]https://twitter.com/jdawsey1/status/1489427677735837700?s=21[/twitter]
Sounds like an instance of cancel culture--you know, the thing Republicans like to accuse Dems of doing.
That’s precisely what it is.
They condemn Cheney and Kinzinger but called the violent January 6th attack on the US Capitol and Trump's attempt to overturn a legitimate election "legitimate political discourse." https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/04/us/politics/republicans-jan-6-cheney-censure.html?smid=tw-nytimes&smtyp=cur That's a hell of a thing to say. Legitimate political discourse? So the next time we disagree with the GOP, it would be legitimate to go and storm the RNC headquarters, kick in the doors, beat up their security guard, and trash their offices? That's legitimate? That's what the LEADERSHIP of the GOP is saying. How can any Republicans defend this? Apart from the aforementioned Cheney and Kinzinger (the only sane ones remaining, apparently), NOT ONE other Republican has publicly condemned, disavowed or disagreed with the RNC calling 1/6 "legitimate political discourse." There is truly a deep sickness in the GOP.
