I'm a conservative woman.  I work, am ivy league educated, pro-birth control, pro-choice, etc.  The stereotypes aren't helpful.  In my case, I became conservative (despite disagreeing about many things) once I got the memo on what teacher's unions are doing to education.  I'm also disgusted at the prospect of spending 3.5t, respect law enforcement, and didn't appreciate not just having my window broken in the "peaceful protesting" but came to resent that I couldn't even dare mention that anything un-peaceful happened. Why not? I consider myself pro-life, I think life begins at conception. I think there’s a sanctity to the life that a woman carries in her womb. But I also respect that women need to make decisions for themselves with regards to abortion. [/quote]

The pp conservative describes me well. I was liberal but I slowly morphed into a conservative over the past 2 years.  It's the "agree with us or you will pay" mentality of the left that made me reconsider my views.

But I'm still pro choice and one thing I have learned through reading polling rsults is that many conservatives are pro choice.  For me, idea that the government can't force someone to carry a pregnancy seems very compatible with conservative ideology.  [/quote]
