Can a get a brief background on Rep. Marie Newman? She refers to her daughter, was she born a boy? What's her approx age? I'm honestly not trolling or playing gotcha, I was just looking for clarification. TIA
Can you not do your own google search?! GMAB.
DP. I did a little research yesterday and I did not find much except for that the day her daughter came out as trans was the "happiest day of Newman's life." FWIW, I'd love my child no matter what, but, honestly, the "happiest day of my life?' Don't think so.
It was the happiest day in her life because her child was finally able to express themselves the way they always saw themselves. Her child was happy, hence she was happy. What's so hard to understand? If your child had always wanted to be married, found the love of their life and got married, would you think it weird that it was a mother's happiest day of her life to see her child's dream come true and to be truly happy? In this case, Rep Newman spent her child's lifetime knowing that the child was not completely happy, had to learn to find her own happiness. Although born a boy, she never felt happy and right until she was able to express herself as female and be open about being female. That day, her child was truly happy for the first time, possibly in her life. Yes, her mother, Rep Newman, might consider that the happiest day of her life. For many of us, as parents, our children's happiness does define our own happiness.
