I think what everyone would like is for reopening to happen along with minimizing infection spread and death as we reopen. The minimizing infection spread and death plan has yet to be introduced in a coherent and realistic fashion That is why we are not reopening.
No, there are clearly people who protested yesterday or are posting here right now who have zero concern about minimizing infection. I think the bigger issue is that the protesters are realizing that their jobs aren't all that necessary for society to function.
You are joking. You must be. Many of these protestors are business owners who don't want their businesses to go down the drain. They are restaurant owners, beauty shop and barber shop owners, and owners of other businesses that were actually thriving before the virus hit. Their businesses are essential - for them to put food on their tables, a roof over their heads, and give millions of others a job. And, Nancy has not helped by refusing to continue to fund the PPP. And, these voters will not forget.
Nancy is trying to get more money for the hospitals. Why does the GOP fight that? She is trying to get money for those business owners while the GOP is raping the treasury on behalf of real estate developers and huge, publicly traded businesses. And yes, the salon owners etc that you mention are important, but they cannot open safely as is right now without the risk of infecting their workers, their customers and their families. What about that are you not understanding? I sure as heck am not getting a haircut or pedicure any time soon, even if the businesses manage to force their opening. there is a differnce between a thriving business (the ones you list) and an essential business like grocery store or PTE manufacturer
