The mayor of Charlotte just told Don Lemon she hasn't seen the video of the shooting yet and maybe she will see it tomorrow. WTF?! Is she serious?
Do you mean the body cam footage from the other officers on scene? Reports I saw said there wasn't a lot of new information on those videos. The video that's been all over the news is the Tulsa incident.
Yes, the video from Charlotte. This incident was yesterday. There were protests last night, many people were hurt last night. She is the mayor. She's supposed to be in charge, the leader of the city, and she hasn't seen the video yet? FML! If I lived in Charlotte I would be so pissed. She should be working 24/7 on this, there is no excuse for her not to have seen the video by this point. If she represents the city, all its citizens, she has to prove this is important, and her nonchalance on CNN shows the complete opposite. She has no idea how many police officers work in Charlotte, or how many officers are on the street tonight, and she will "reaches our resources needs tomorrow and make a decision how to allocate if we need to increase that". Talk about a pretty load and fluff statement, if I was a citizen I would be upset. If I was a police officer or a family member of an officer I would be upset. if I was AA I would be upset. If I was a business owner in downtown Charlotte I would be upset. There are not enough police, which puts the officers at risk and crowd at risk. Remember what the mayor of Baltimore did last year. She went AWOL. She didn't answer her phone with Hogan was calling and he basically had to declare a state of emergency because she couldn't or wouldn't do her job. And the city really suffered. Charlotte is a nice city with all kinds of nice people. This makes me so sad.
