Did you actually read this thread? Aside from one super smug Janney poster (who may have been a troll), there was none of that. Instead, there were multiple attacks on the school and its parents before any Janney parents had even come out of the woodwork with their response to OP's question. Then, understandably, there were some posters parrying those attacks, and a few Janney parents who sounded nothing but reasonable. Then it all devolved into arguments about Hearst and Janney's supposed lack of diversity.

As an outside observer of these threads (I don't have kids at Janney), what I see is a pathological need to take down a particularly successful school and disparage its parents who are perceived as too full of themselves. Your post is a particularly aggressive example. As a previous poster noted, it's either parents at surrounding schools that are similarly good, or it's EOTP parents who are worn out by their lottery woes and resentful of those who live IB for one of DCPS's best functioning elementaries.[/quote]
