Your mother made a calculation here.  She didn't think about what is actually the right thing to do.  She can't. I don't know exactly why, but she thinks more people would think she is a good grandmother if she went with your sister.

Unfortunatlely, all there is to do is get over it, get a baby sitter, and don't make the same mistakes with your own kids.
