There was an event around the holidays and all the parents were talking about the rough transition their kids had.  In the end everyone got over the hump I'm pretty sure but when most of the parents spoke about the first few months being rough, it wasn't our experience. [/quote]

NP here.  Why does it seem odd?   Parents commiserate about their kid's school experiences all the time.  Given how many kids get into AAP these days (and what some have to do to get in), it does not surprise me at all that parents would talk about a rough transition.   [/quote]
