I think it's rude. No teen wants to hear their parents having sex. None. Most adults don't want to hear people having sex either unless they're watching porn. If it's loud enough to be heard during the day, in normal circumstances, from other parts of the house, then I think it's appropriate to either quiet it down or put on some music.

I'm not one of the people freaking out that it is SO GROSS or anything. It's normal, and I don't think it should be kept a secret from the kids. But I don't think it's necessary to be so obvious as to make them uncomfortable, especially since we are talking about them going off during the day to have sex. It's already obvious what's going on. No one here is saying to be as ridiculously loud, but what is the big deal if they hear a headboard squeak or a stray moan?

I remember being a teen, and when you're a teen EVERYTHING your parents do is upsetting and embarrassing.

I can't see how I could get into it, knowing we are so damn loud that my kids can hear it and, if they're a typical teen, are grossed out.

Contrary to what you might want to believe, teens are going to be grossed out, even if you live in a sex positive home.[/quote]
