As a landlord I would pay. Provided you have been good tenants. I have to wonder if you are complaining about a $125 dollar expenditure if you may be one of those tenants that call morning noon and night about any little thing. I would be less inclined to pay for a hotel if that were the case. To give you an example, the power went out in the duplex I lived in with my tenants in the other unit. I was tired of no power after 1 day and went to the Mandarin Oriental and offered my tenants to come along and get a room for them. They opted to stay with friends who had kids their child could play with. Good to your landlord and they will be excellent to you.
Op Here. We only call landlord for major issues. Example: right now the basement toilet is leaking and appears to have a crack, DH is going to replace (and pay for) the toilet himself (with a friend). In fact the reason that LL found out that A/C was out was because he had stopped by to have us sign a new lease and he said to my DH "Man, it's hot in here!" He joked to DH and then said, "You make big bucks, you can afford to turn on the air!' My DH then said "It is on!" So then they both went outside to check unit and realized the fan wasn't spinning. This was purely coincidence. The $125 isn't a big deal, except I have no space for four fans or use for them once A/C is repaired. By the way, repair man has not showed up yet.
If it isn't a big deal can you STFU about the $125 and stop posting??? Sell the fans on Craigslist after the A/C is restored.
