as a 'moderate Muslim"- totally agree. its not just the terrosists, its the community son marginalized and extreme Muslims who freak out and and take to the streets looting and burning every single time someone says something offensive who give crazy terrorists the mental boost to go out and commit murderous acts. I mean I think that the Charlie head and Danish cartoons are disgusting but I know they will offend me and I prefer to not look at them & completely ignore them.  How is rioting or bombing Charlie Hebdo and killing people helping to establish a good reputation for Muhammad saw? Its totally doing the opposite.  People in the world should refrain from  criticizing our leaders b/c they respect them not because they are afraid that Muslims are thugs & murderers.  
I think they scrub the tapes b/c they don't want ISIS to feel like their strategy of claiming random attacks by lone wolves is working. Ideally ISIS should feel like the despised and filthy outcast from all human society and especially Muslims society. That is why it is prudent to frame the narrative of lone wold shooters who grab hold of whatever violent narrative is at hand to justify their acts of murder as just that and not support for ISIS. ISIS needs to feel demoralized cornered and near annihilation - that way potential recruits will think they are losers, no-one wants to fight for losers. [/quote]
