I have no intention of defending Allen West, but rather than arguing with the respondent(s) defending him, I think we should thank them for actually answering OP's question and explaining what they see in West.
It's the same old answer as always. West confirms their biases. West stokes their fears with his conspiracy theories. And FOX News loves him and repeats what he says. They eat it all up because it's what they want to hear. And since it's on the news, since it keeps being repeated, it's all true and legit, right? Too bad the fact checkers have proven most of what West has ever said to be at best severely misguided, and at worst, batshit insane. There's frankly very little that West has ever said that was truthful or above board.
Such a strange post - I haven't watched Fox in eons...but I HAVE met and have spoken to West. This is how fact-checkers operate: West - "The sky is blue" Fact Checker - "Actually, sometimes the sky is grey - so FALSE. LIAR" The reality is, it's liberals that reject the facts. Germany is a great example. So is Venezuela.
Nice try but nope. Read up: http://www.politifact.com/personalities/allen-west/
If you read, it's exactly what I said - fact checkers tend to pull out x or y like "has no plans" and uses those as fact. It's sort of like when Obama and Hillary said it was a video that caused the Benghazi attack - there was a video but it was unrelated. Also like the gunrunning across the border - Fast and Furious. There's lots of fuzzy logic going on there as well, such as when the Obama administration says that Mexican criminals are buying guns in the US and committing murders in Mexico. They are, but it's because of OUR gunrunning setup.
Nice try but no. That's not what they are. They expose big fat blatant lies. Not to mention some totally batshit insane stuff that your hero West has said. Here's some more lovely stuff from him: http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2012/02/16/417174/allen-west-15-worst-quotes/ And yet another compilation of lies, parallel universe weirdness and outright nutjobbery:
On May 15th, 2014, Allen West is on Fox News, where he says the media’s coverage of Boko Haram kidnapping of hundreds of girls in Nigeria was just a “distraction” story to avoid talking about Benghazi. On August 5th, 2014, West says Democrats would nominate Hilary Clinton just for the purpose of calling her opponents sexists. Allen West pens his daily column for August 15th, 2014, where he says that President Obama is “siding with groups like ISIS because he supports their goal of building an Islamic caliphate”. On August 20th, 2014, West claims the Democratic Party is “anti-Semitic” and “aligning itself with Islamists”. On October 3rd, 2014, Allen West makes the paranoid claim that undocumented immigrants are spreading a childhood respiratory illness through America, as part of a plan of biological warfare orchestrated by the Obama administration for providing shelter to the undocumented migrant youths from Central America to help spread it. He would repeat this claim on October 8th. One day after the 2014 elections, on November 5th, West is interviewed and explains why Democrats lost: “You look at the history of the Democrat Party and it’s always been about fear-mongering, intimidation of the voters, coercion. They’re the party of segregation. They’re the party of the Ku Klux Klan.” (This, of course, neglects t mention the “Dixiecrats” of the 1950s all left the Democratic party over the Civil Rights Act and became Republicans. Many of whom have still been caught with ties to white supremacist groups, including but not limited to the KKK.) On November 19th, 2014, West says that an “incredible cry from the American people” is coming for President Obama’s impeachment so that Republicans wouldn’t even have to ask for it. On February 2nd, 2015, Allen West goes on Newsmax and says that Congress should “censure President Obama for being an Islamist sympathizer”. On February 26th, 2015, West calls upon more American politicians to have the courage to “call out President Obama as an Islamist”. On April 20th, 2015, Allen West is speaking in Texas, and blames a rise in high school football injuries on taking Christian prayer out of schools. On June 26th, 2015, West publishes a column on his website about how the Supreme Court ruling on Gay Marriage could lead to a new civil war: “With this ruling, the Supreme Court is essentially saying individuals have civil rights based on their sexual behavior, and setting up a monumental battle with the free exercise of religion. This could well be the straw that breaks the camel’s back – that camel being the up till now silent, passive Americans who have been cowed into “tolerating” societal changes that go counter to their fundamental beliefs. The SCOTUS decision on same-sex marriage is not about the issue itself — it is about individual religious freedom and the imposition of the State’s will against faith. After all, it is the original reason why the Pilgrims fled England. And since there is no place for men and women of faith to retreat — they will make a stand. This ain’t first century Rome.“ Four days later on June 30th, West is interviewed, and gripes about the Confederate flag coming down, blaming it on “Islamofascists and socialists” who are “just like ISIS and the Taliban”. His proof of the rising collusion between the two? Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was on the cover of Rolling Stone (again, don’t try to make sense of his logic).

And he is correct about a lot of these things. Obama is an Islamist sympathizer. Furthermore, progressives do align themselves with Islamists - y'all are doing it in this thread, lamenting about the 'innocent Iraqi man' who planned on killing our own soldiers. Gross. The Dixiecrats thing is a re-write of history - you are trying to wash away the democrat party's alignment with the KKK Didn't Hillary Clinton admire Robert Byrd and call him her mentor? Yes, I believe she did. Illegal immigrant children, the one's that Obama indeed allow to flood the border, did in fact bring in respiratory viruses, which paralyzed and killed American children. Even the CDC finally admitted that's where this wave came from, after it became obvious that the few cases we've had over the years before paled in comparison to the absolute flood of cases the year those kids came in. Border agents initially reported it, and of course their cries fell upon deaf ears. These agents stopped going home to their families for a while to spare their own children. How many democrats are calling Hillary's opponents sexist? Tons. The vagina vote is a real thing. Can you explain the bolded? Would love to hear the liberal spin on THAT one.
