I don't love Trump and think he's said some pretty stupid things. That being said, some of it has been twisted by the media. If you look at his actual positions, he's more moderate than any of the candidates. And for the Muslim poster- he never said he'd prohibit Muslims from entering the country. He said he's put a moratorium on it until we can do better background checks. I fully support this- look at what's been happening in Europe. I voted for Obama twice and I'll vote for Trump if he's the nominee. If it were between Cruz and Hillary, I'd either sit out this race or hold my nose and vote for Hillary.
You're overlooking the registry part. The registry of Muslims IN America who may be citizens. That's so wrong and disgusting I don't understand how it doesn't turn your stomach. It smacks of the Jewish ghettos in Europe. And if it doesn't bother you that he's contemplating registering and tracking Muslims, would it bother you if next he registers Jews, or Catholics, or anyone with German ancestry, or anyone who's ever had an abortion, etc? Most of these things wouldn't occur to Trump -- I'll grant you he's not a true idealogue like Cruz or Rick Santorum -- but if he establishes this power, what's to stop the next president or Congress from expanding it? I know, I know, you'll say I'm fear-mongering and none of this would ever come to pass. People said that about Hitler. He couldn't really mean it. Well, he meant it, and 12 million people died because of it. Whole communities were wiped out. Undesirables were massacred. Even a hint of anything similar in our country should be roundly condemned, and yet people embrace it. It makes me sick. Plus, if you are only talking violence, gun violence by American citizens kills way more people than terrorist attacks by illegally entered Muslims. When I think about whether I'm likely to die violently in the next decade, statistically gun violence, mugging, or car accident is much more likely than a terrorist attack. Not that a terrorist attack couldn't happen. It's just that statistically these other things are more likely to get me first.
