Good to know. I suspect that is dependent on the teacher as my friend's son has ADHD and is at a center. He has a 504 plan and she says the teacher rarely implements it and it's a struggle. [/quote]

NP here -- my DS has ADHD with anxiety and has a 504 Plan. He's in 6th grade at a Center school. Our experience at both a LLIV program and a Center is the implementation of the 504 Plan (and it is "only" a 504 Plan and not an IEP) is quite dependent upon the school counselor. A good school counselor can make things so much better at the school, including the classroom. A good school counselor conveys information about students to many teachers, and not just the classroom teacher. My DS has issues with transitions, particularly with less structured settings (such as going through the hallways to specials, at lunch in the cafeteria, on the playground at recess, etc.) and often the classroom teacher is not there during these times. The Center school counselor appears to have lots of experience with kids with these issues, so it helps diffuse problems and helps teach my DS proper behavior. I am sure this differs from Center to Center/LLIV to LLIV. I do think it is an important issue to consider when making a choice between Center program and neighborhood school (with or without LLIV).[/quote]
