I'm saying people living in Vienna. Those living in Fairfax are closer to Luther, but those in Vienna and Oakton, south side of 66, are closer to Thoreau.
All the students living in the Town of Vienna go to either Thoreau or Kilmer, and then to Madison HS. People in other parts of Vienna and Oakton just live in unincorporated parts of Fairfax County.
Stenwood Elementarykids go to Thoreau/Kilmer then Marshall.
Stenwood students don't live in the Town of Vienna. Both Kilmer and Thoreau are split feeders to Madison and Marshall. FCPS could eliminate the split feeders by assigning all Thoreau students to Madison and all Kilmer students to Marshall, but that would require some Town of Vienna students to go to Marshall, and their parents want to stay at Madison. Some will claim they have a "right" to attend Madison, although there is no legal requirement to send all Town students to Madison and, in fact, part of the Town of Vienna went to Oakton until the mid-80s.
