Since they can't screen for language skills like DCPS can, what other option does an immersion charter have who is trying to achieve a balance of native speakers of both languages?[/quote] LAMB could still do aggressive outreach to certain communities if it was in the common lottery. They could hold info sessions at libraries in Hispanic neighborhoods, etc and let people know they should rank the school highly on the common lottery if they want to go to LAMB. Wanting to do their own outreach is independent from needing to hold their own lottery. [/quote]
